Inclusion of first patients in the SENSITIVE study

On July 01, we included the first patients in UMCG in the SENSITIVE study. In this study, we perform in vivo raman spectroscopy and scattering measurements to assess field cancerization in Barrett’s esophagus and colorectal tissue during endoscopy. During these first procedures, people from RiverD and Universidad Carlos III Madrid were present to monitor the feasibility and quality of the in vivo measurements by the raman and scattering devices respectively. To perform these measurements, we use devices that were thoroughly reviewed and approved according to the updated requirements of the Medical Device Regulation (EU 2017/745). At this moment, we have already included 30 from the total cohort of 60 patients. We look forward to share our first results with you!
