Molecular characterization of tumors by the Klinakis group
The Klinakis group in BRFAA has molecularly characterized ten of individual cases of tumors and adjacent normal tissue (stomach and forestomach) from a mouse model of gastroesophageal cancer. As control, we used gastroesophageal junction, stomach and forestomach from control mice. The aim of this analysis was to investigate whether the normal tissue adjacent to the tumor shares similarities with the respective normal regions of control mice or rather noeplastic tissue. This analysis showed that indeed, on occasion, tumor-adjacent tissue is affected, at least in the molecular level.
